Frequently Asked Questions
A few things people often wonder.
What if I'm new to therapy or not sure what I need?
That's completely okay. You don't need to have it all figured out to begin, nor do you need to know exactly which modality we should use. Therapy is a collaborative process that helps you clarify what's sitting beneath the surface and discover what's ready to shift, release, or heal, at your own pace.
What can I expect from our first session together?
Our initial time together is about creating a safe space and understanding the unique landscape of your nervous system. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, look at the patterns or burnout you're currently navigating, and begin mapping out a path forward together. You don't have to worry about knowing where to start. We'll let your body and your pace guide us.
How do you integrate somatic work with traditional clinical therapy?
We don't just talk about your challenges; we track how they live in your body. In a session, this might look like combining EMDR to process a stuck memory, using Internal Family Systems (IFS) to get curious about an anxious or perfectionist part of you, and using focused breathwork to physically quiet a highly activated nervous system. We bridge the science of your biology with the depth of your personal story.
Do you offer psychedelic integration or spiritual support?
Yes. I work with individuals navigating expanded states of consciousness, including those brought on by psychedelic experiences, deep breathwork, or spontaneous spiritual openings. Whether you're looking to ground and integrate a specific journey, or simply feeling the stirrings of a deeper existential or transpersonal change, this is a safe, non-judgmental space to process it.
Is your therapy religious or faith-based?
No. My training included graduate studies at a seminary, which I'm grateful for, but my work is secular and grounded in psychology, neuroscience, and somatic science. I think of myself as spiritual rather than religious, and I never bring my own beliefs into the room. People of every faith, and of none, are equally welcome here, and we always follow your values, not mine.
Where are you located, and how do we meet?
I'm based in California and offer all sessions online through a secure, confidential telehealth platform. This allows you to join from the comfort and privacy of your own space, wherever you are in the state.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Before we begin, we'll have a free 20-minute call, with no pressure and no paperwork. It's simply a chance to hear each other, talk through what's bringing you in, and see whether we feel like the right fit. You can request it from the contact page whenever you're ready.
What are your fees, and do you accept insurance?
Sessions are $200 per 50-minute clinical hour. I offer longer or customized sessions upon request.
I'm currently an in-network provider with Aetna. For all other insurance plans, I operate as an out-of-network provider. If your plan covers out-of-network mental-health services, I can gladly provide a monthly superbill to submit for potential reimbursement. If you're unsure about your coverage, it's worth calling the out-of-network mental-health line on the back of your insurance card to check your benefits.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because our sessions are an intentional, dedicated space reserved exclusively for you and your healing, I require 24-hour notice for any cancellations or rescheduling.
Still wondering if it's a fit?
That's exactly what the free consultation is for.
